So, who are you, anyway?
I'm Cinema Sweetheart, a college student and a movie buff. I just recently joined my school's film club, and thought it would be fun to make a blog of movie reviews, since I already review films on a previous blog.
Do you watch a lot of movies? And with whom?
I do watch a lot of movies, and with a lot of different people. Usually, its either my roommate or someone in our circle of friends, my brother, my parents (mostly my dad) or just by myself. Of course, its always more fun to see movie with a friend, but if everyone is too busy to see The Abominable Dr. Phibes, but you still want to watch it...well, you watch it alone then. :P
What is your favorite movie?
That's going to be really hard to say. One of my favorites is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, but I also love Phantom of the Opera (Chaney and Butler), The Unknown, Without a Clue, and Zorro the Gay Blade.
So, the elephant in the room...when did you lose your movie virginity?
I can't remember the first movie I saw with my parents, although I can only guess it was something cartoon and Disney, but I do remember the first time I saw a movie in the theaters. I was three or four, and it was Disney's Pocahontas.
And this started a loving and beautiful passion for movies.
No, actually. Even though I loved seeing the movies, I really don't think I became much of a movie buff until high school. It started with a project on the musical Phantom of the Opera, which led to me checking out the Lon Chaney version of the film, becoming acquainted with Lon Chaney Jr., and then the Universal Horror films. My dad and I started a weekly tradition of movies on Tuesday nights, and...well, now I'm hooked on movies :)
Um, so do you do anything else besides watch movies?
Yeah, lol. I read, write, hang out with friends, listen to music, go to class, and read the daily newspaper comics. :P (Just to name a few).
So, what's the point of this blog?
This blog is supposed to be a fun way to document some of the movies I've seen while providing a reference point for people who are interested in finding out about some new movies, or getting a review about one they're curious to see. And yes, I watch all the movies I post about. I watch, I review, I post and share what I've learned with all of you :)
How does this work?
Basically, each post contains several key points of information about the movie: the director, the starring actors/actresses, the age appropriate rating, the genre, the length, the year it came out, any sequels, and of course, my own personal rating. Also, there is a short summary of the plot, my own opinions and comments on the movie, and if possible, a trailer. By using the search bar across the top of the page, you can look up directors, film titles, and actors, so you don't always have to rely on just what's on the homepage! N.B. Please remember that most of the information on this blog is my opinion, so please don't be offended if a movie you are particularly fond of didn't get a very high score; its only the thoughts of one person.
